Hazard Awareness

What Injury Is Most Likely in Your Job Today?

“If someone gets hurt doing today’s work, what will most likely happen?”

ASK • IDENTIFY • CONTROL

The most useful hazard conversation is often the most specific one. Think through the task, choose the injury that is genuinely most likely, and make sure the controls address it.

  1. 01Focus on today’s task—not a generic list of every possible hazard.
  2. 02Consider hands, body position, lifting, stored energy, slips, and line of fire.
  3. 03Ask the people doing the work what usually goes wrong.
  4. 04Choose one practical action that lowers the most likely risk.
TAKEAWAYName the most likely injury, then put a real control between your crew and that outcome.
