Shift changes, contractor changes, and scope changes are critical transition points. A good handoff transfers information — it doesn’t transfer assumptions.

  1. 01LOTO: Follow the transfer process. Never assume another person’s lock, tag, or isolation means you’re protected. Verify status and follow the proper changeover procedure.
  2. 02JSA: New crew or new scope? Stop and complete/review a new JSA for the work you’re actually about to perform. Yesterday’s JSA may not cover today’s work.
TAKEAWAYSame location. New crew. Same commitment. Safety doesn’t take a break.
